Taking the Road Less Traveled by . . .

... Can literally make all the difference.

Our first inaugural camping trip with the Orams and Coppins started with an overnight backpacking trip to a mountain lake. Although TJ had seen a road on Google earth head directly to the lake, we felt it appropriate to take the trail. After losing the trail, finding the trail, bushwacking it down a mountain face covered with 4 feet of snow in some places/mud in the rest, and turning a 2.6 mile hike into a 3.5 mile hike, we found our mountain lake, and it was gorgeous. Needless to say, we took the road on our return journey.

  2. What a fun trip. I can't believe they did it with the kids...and you agreed to go with them! At this moment Xander is climbing in my head while I try to type.

Also, great pic of you and Brian.
